Remedial Massage
We are currently working on our Tutorial data and thank you for being patient with this content. As soon as we have completed the content we will be able to have it up and running for you.
We repeatedly get requests for further information and the next two questions are the most frequently asked:
1. Should I feel sore after my massage?
Some people experience soreness after their massage – normally the next day. Don’t worry as this is a normal body reaction.
An effect of the massage techniques used is that the friction applied creates warmth and energy to enter into the muscles. This brings extra blood flow and nutrients into the area. If the muscles were extra tight to begin with your muscles may experience slight inflammation as it struggles to dispel the extra flow of blood and body fluids etc.
This soreness should subside over the next couple of days. Please contact the clinic if this soreness doesn’t subside.
2. When do I need another massage?
This varies with each person. During your massage your therapist would have informed you of how your muscles have reacted to the massage. Usually when the therapist can get deep into the muscles, recovery is quick and flexibility improves greatly.
A follow up treatment may be required within two weeks if required. If the therapist has trouble getting deep into the muscles then recovery and flexibility is not so great. Follow up is highly recommended if you require lasting results from your massage treatments.
The quicker you get your treatments the quicker the results. Time frame before next treatment should be between 2 days and no later than 2 weeks (otherwise benefits of previous treatments may diminish).
